It had been a little over a week since Autumn had begun planning her present for her roommate, Levi. And it was finally all together. She silently tip-toed into the studio. She'd been working on this present at every chance she got, so hopefully Levi would like it. With a grin she lifted the large canvas and made her way out of the room. She quietly leaned the painting against a wall and pulled two strips of paper from her hoodie pocket. She slipped them into the back of the painting and smiled. She also pulled out the large black suitcase that she and Levi had purchased at Costco the previous week. Now that all parts of the present were out, she made her way towards the living room, carrying the large canvas, that was taller than she was, in front of her so she was just a square, waddling landscape. "Hey Leeeviiii! I have something to show yooouuuu!" she said in a sing-song tone. She plopped the canvas onto the ground and grinned. "It's a painting," she said matter-o-factly.

Levi lifted a mug of coffee to his lips, laying sprawled on the couch as usual. He inhaled the bittersweet scent, loving it. Ever since they had been confronted last week, Levi had been watching the apartment at night, getting little sleep. He didn't need it, of course, but it was something he liked. Because of this, he had returned to Costco, and bought tons of coffee, his own little payment for guard duty. Once again, he let the smell invade his mind, but before he could take a sip, a walking canvas had entered the room, now painted in a beautiful landscape. After Autumn had spoken, he raised an eyebrow, and sat up, letting his feet dangle off of the couch. "Okay, I can see that," he said, a small grin on his face. "A very good painting at that; but what is this about? Trying to prove that you're as amazing an artist as I expected?"

Autumn rolled her eyes and stepped up beside the painting. "No, it's a present. A present for you. It's a landscape of Ireland. I know how you said you wanted to go there. So what I want you to do when you look at this painting is picture yourself standing there on that hill looking out across the landscape like you're actually there. And get used to that image because..." her voice trailed off and she reached behind the painting, pulling out two tickets. Plane tickets, to be exact. To Dublin, Ireland. "By this time next week, it'll be real. We may have a long time, but I want to be there when you experience the place you dream of visiting. Plus, it'll be good to get out of the city for a week...it'll give Lester and his goons a chance to find new people to hate. But wait! There's more!" she said, now talking like a salesmen on a commercial. Autumn scurried down the hallway and wheeled the large suitcase out with her. 'Ta-da! Well...this present isn't anything yet. But starting this week we are going shopping for you, for new clothes that you'll take to Ireland. They have to fill up this suitcase," she said, patting the black bag as she spoke. Autumn wheeled the suitcase next to the painting and placed the plane tickets on the coffee table. She smiled in anticipation, bouncing up and down on her toes a bit out of excitement. "So? What do you think?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.

It took Levi all he had to not drop the coffee cup. Swallowing, he sat the mug down on the table, and stared at the girl, his mouth agape. "For me...?" he questioned quietly, as if not believing what had happened. Standing, he moved silently across the floor, and embraced the girl, not speaking. He was indeed speechless, the first time in years. "Thank you," he mumbled, trying to keep his voice from cracking. Levi pulled away, and gripped her shoulders, grinning at her. "This is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me, hands down." To be honest, Levi wasn't sure how to react. He had never been given a gift such as this before. "My journal," he began, letting her go. Quickly, he ran back to the couch, lifting one of the cushions. From under it, he retrieved a small black notebook; the some one he bought from the art store a week ago. "You asked me what it was, last week," he explained, turning and glancing through the pages, before holding it out to her. "It's a journal. I've been writing in it every night, after you went to sleep. I plan on writing in it, every day of my life, from here on out. I figure that if I live forever, I may as well make it worth it." He smiled again, and continued to offer it forward.

Autumn's cheeks flushed a bit when he embraced her. It wasn't any sort of embarrassing thing. They'd hugged before. But no matter how well-timed the embrace, it always caught her by surprise. She smiled, nodding her head. "You're welcome. Those this is sort of a gift for me too. I get to go to Ireland," she pointed out with a nod of her head. When he retrieved his journal she listened to his explanation. However, when he offered her the journal she stared at him with a perplexed look. "But...that's your journal Your private account of the day. No, I can't read it, it'd be wrong," she said, shaking her head as she spoke. Autumn pushed the journal back towards him gently before she clapped her hands together and grabbed the handle of the suitcase. "If we're going to buy you new clothes, we'd better get started!" she pointed out in an excited tone. Despite it being the biggest contradiction to personality, Autumn loved to shop. She couldn't explain why, but the expression "Shop till you drop" did not exist in the shapeshifter's vocabulary.

Levi began to protest when she pushed it back towards him, but instead he disregarded it, tossing it onto the coffee table. Laughing, he glanced at the suitcase, shrugging. "I guess so, then." From the couch, he retrieved his phone (which he hadn't used in weeks), his wallet; which had mysteriously gained more money than it had lost, and a folded up, wrinkled piece of paper. Then, after returning his journal to it's original place, and finishing off the coffee in one long gulp, he grinned, and jumped up, slightly excited. "You know, I never really saw you as the shopping person. It doesn't fit you at all." His eyes once again drifted to the painting, and he had to bend over and examine it closer. "I love it," he mumbled, smiling up at her. "I'll keep it with me forever." With one last glance at the painting, he stood, grasped her shoulder, and gestured towards the door. Grinning, Levi bowed his head, and said, "After you, m'lady."

Autumn nodded her head. "I know, I don't know why I like to shop. Everything in my being tells me I should be indifferent about shopping, but I still like doing it. I don't like spending money, I don't like trying on tons of clothes... But somehow shopping still appeals to me," she muttered. The girl shook her head and grabbed her bag. "I'll never understand my own brain," she added with a sigh. Shrugging the thought away. Autumn made her way down the stairs of the apartment building and out to the curb. She flipped open her phone, taking a not of the time. "It's still pretty early in the morning, so we'll have time for a lit. But we have to be at the bus stop by 5pm. Don't want to get caught out at night again," she pointed out. Ever since their encounter with Lester the Vampire, Autumn had been careful to always keep track of the time and never trust the bus system to reach you on time. Autumn turned to Levi with a smile. "So what do you say, to the mall first?"

He shrugged, laughing. "Maybe you just like the thought of gaining stuff." Following her down the stairs and out to the curb, Levi's mind floated away, and landed somewhere on the coasts of Ireland. He couldn't help but daydream, now. He was going to the one place he had always wanted to. The thought delighted him. By this time next week, he'd been in Ireland. Ireland! And it was all because of Autumn. Levi glanced over, examining the girl. She was speaking, he could see, but all he could hear was his own thoughts, which were currently occupied with the trip. "-to the mall first?" "What? Oh, uh...yeah." He grinned, attempting to reassure her that he was listening.

Autumn could tell by his dazed expression and confused response that he had been deep in his own thoughts, but she didn't mind. Se did that often as well. Making her was to the bus stop, she leaned against the pole and waited patiently. A bus seemed to come almost instantly and Autumn snorted, shaking her head. "Where was that when we needed it last week?" she mused, climbing onto the bus. This seemed to be a daily routine for she and Levi. Wake up, eat, go out, be home before dusk. Except for the days she actually attended classes, this simple schedule made up their daily lives. It would be nice to mix it up a bit with a new continent and new adventures.
With a sigh, Autumn plopped into a chair. "By the way, I made sure out flight takes off in the morning, when the sun was up, and lands before the sun is down, just in case," she said, realizing she hadn't mentioned anything about the trip other than that they were going. "I also booked a hotel room for us for the week there. I figured you wouldn't mind sharing a room, since we already share an apartment," she added, folding her hands in her lap.

Levi chuckled lightly, following her onto the bus. "Definitely not where we needed it, of course." The Vampire happily sat next to her, lacing his own hands into each other. Lately, this was routine for the two; and Levi didn't mind it. It was better than what he did in New York, at least. He would sleep in alleyways and bum off of others. To be completely honest, it still could be considered that he was bumming of Autumn, but she seemed happy to let him. Besides, he had repayed her in small different ways. He watched the house at night, provided comedic relief, emotional support, etc. It wasn't like he just lazed around all day, while she bought food and the likes. It was a pretty good deal; especially with the friendship that had quickly bloomed between the two. "I guess I hadn't really thought about that," he replied, once she had explained their flight planes. "I was a bit too excited," Levi added, snickering for a moment. "Oh, of course not," he said, agreeing with her statement on the hotel room. "No point in getting more than one, anyways. Just more money..."

Autumn slowly nodded her head. She found that she was drumming her fingers on her thighs to the beat of the song that was playing softly throughout the bus. It was some stupid pop song by some one hit wonder that no one even remembered anymore. However, it filled the silence of the bus. Since it was still rather early in the morning, people were still in their "I wish I wasn't alive" lull. Autumn snapped out of her own thoughts as the bus lurched to a stop. A few people shuffled off the the vehicle, but it wasn't their stop yet. She turned to Levi and grinned. She propped her elbows up on the armrest between them and placed her chin in her hands. "So, tell me, what is it that you think you'll like most about Ireland?" she asked, deciding to try and get rid of the early morning silence that had fallen upon the two friends.

Levi shrugged, grinning widely while on the subject of Ireland. "Everything, probably. I've just wanted this since I was a child. I guess I'm in a kind of euphoric blur." Laughing, he shrugged again, his mind quickly jumping from one matter to another. "It's funny, really. That first time I met you, you were all frowns-and-grouches at me, now you're taking me to Ireland. I mean, what the hell?" He exaggerated the last few words, raising his eyebrows in humor. Shifting, the Vampire readjusted himself, so that he was turned towards her. Thinking, he realized how quickly and strangely their friendship had been sparked. It was nearly like one of those novel friendships, raised up by mere destiny. "Anyways, what do you think you'll like most about Ireland? The people, the landscapes, something else? Hmm?" Levi wiggled his eyebrows, smiling at the girl. "Knowing you, it probably will be the beautiful landscapes, no doubt."

Autumn recoiled a bit, her brow furrowing. "I wasn't that unfriendly... Besides, I didn't know you, and my bus was late," she mumbled, as though she was attempting to justify her supposedly grouchy attitude. Autumn decided to drop the issue, deciding it wasn't worth fretting about. "The landscapes? Yeah, I'm looking forward to those. But that's not what I'm looking forward to the most," she said. She turned to Levi and smiled. "I'm looking forward to seeing you excited about seeing everything you can in Ireland and seeing the look on your face when you finally visit the place you've been dreaming of going. It's an amazing feeling when you see those things you've been dreaming about. I've felt it myself, now I'm looking forward to seeing my best friend seeing them. That's what I'm anticipating the most," she said. It was true, Levi had indeed become her best friend. She didn't really have many others, but even if she did Levi would surpass them, even if she hadn't known him all that long. She turned to look out of the window when the bus squeaked to a stop. The mall stood in her view and she rose to her feet. "This is our stop."

Levi grinned when she told him what she wanted to see the most. Opening his mouth to speak, he stopped himself, unsure of what exactly he would see. Luckily, the bus had come to a stop, allowing him an easy way out of the situation. Standing, he nodded, and smiled, stepping out of the seats. "Uh...same," he mustered, in response to her earlier statements. Silently, he walked to the front of the bus, dismounting the steps with ease. "Best friend, eh?" Levi grinned, his natural charisma returning. "So, where do we start?" Levi questioned, crossing his arms and raising his eyebrows with mild curiosity.

Autumn stepped onto the curb, watching the bus drive away before she spoke. "Well, do you have a favorite store? A favorite brand of clothing?" she asked, hoping that that might get them somewhere. Otherwise they'd simply be looking in all store with male clothing, and that might take a while. It was, after all, a big mall. Autumn remembered an important detail and turned to Levi. "Also, we have to be back on this curb waiting for the bus by 5:00pm. I said that earlier, but it's mostly to remind me. Saying it helps," she explained, pointing to the spot where she was standing to emphasize the importance of the time of their departure. Wouldn't want to get caught out at night again. Not while they were on the Vampire hit-list.

"Er..." Levi pursed his lips, thinking. "That one...that makes the clothing..." He chuckled, shaking his head. "I have no idea what I'm saying." Hearing her remind them about the deadline, he nodded. "Of course, we wouldn't want to be caught outside during the night. I'd be fine, but I'd have to protect your hide." Levi grinned at her, tousling her hair jokingly. "Anyways, shopping...what are we going to do about that?" He shifted, and glanced at the mall. It looked like quite a big store, at least. Besides, he had never spent his entire day clothes shopping, and he wasn't exactly looking forward to it.

Autumn grumbled irritably under her breath as her hair was tousled. She smoothed it out, running her fingers through it and flattening it against her skull. She shifted a bit, shuffling her weight from one foot tot he other as she contemplated their future actions. "I guess we'll just start shopping. We have a week to buy you clothes, so I'm not too worried about it. Just the fact that you might want to shove me off of the bus by the time this week is over is out only concern," the shapeshifter joked, flashing a goofy grin. She turned towards the mall, gesturing for Levi to follow. "Come on, we'd better get started," she called. Deciding to be strange, Autumn began skipping towards the large tan building, her auburn hair flowing behind her like a flag.
