Character Layout Empty
PostSubject: Character Layout   Character Layout EmptyMon Oct 03, 2011 12:57 am

So...you want to make a character, huh? Well first, there are a few things you need to know.

First, let's start with the rules of the Blood Lust characters:

1) What kind of character are you making?
Well the answer is simple. These characters are fairytales. They're those creatures that you hear about in stories and fables (as well as in cheesy or horrible movies). These include, but are not limited to, Vampires, Werewolves, Angels, Demons, Faeries, and Shapeshifters. (These are not the only species that you are stuck with using, if you come up with something else and have it approved by an admin you may use that as well.)

2) After you create your fabulous character, what do you do?
Oh look, another simple answer. In the general "Register" forum you make a New Topic that is titled "YOUR USERNAME's Characters" Post your finished lovely there are wait for the character to be approved by the staff BEFORE you roleplay!

3) How many characters are you allowed to have?
You are allowed to have 3 characters per account. (and don't even think about double account, we can read your IP address so it won't work.)

4) Do you HAVE to stick to this layout? Or can you change it a bit?
You can edit minor things, like the font face, size, color etc. As well as the justification of the words (whether they're centered, right, left or justified). However, we'd like to keep this general layout and all the information MUST be there in the required area with the required amount of complete sentences. You are free to ADD sections, but nothing can be removed. If the staff thinks you've altered the layout too much, we'll tell you before accepting your character as well as what you should do to change it, so you don't have to worry about this too much.

And now it's time for a little lesson in CHARACTER MAKING 101:

Item 1: Each character must be detailed. No detail in the character=bad character. Now I know what you're thinking. "I put detail in later once the character develops!" Bull shit. There's a difference between adding things to the history or personality when the character has changed and then just having hardly any information about the character in the first place. Include necessary information AND THEN choose to add more. Don't start out with nothing and think that you're going to develop a character "with time" because it's not going to go over well.

Item 2: Characters. Have. Flaws. *gasp* What's this?! A flawed character?! You mean they aren't perfect?! No. No person is perfect and character's shouldn't be either. If your character doesn't have enough flaws, you will be asked to add more. Characters are like colons. A balanced colon makes a happy person. And a balanced character makes a happy roleplayer.

Item 3: Honestly, just make your character believable. That's the biggest rule in character making.

So, now that you know the basis of the character and how to make a character, are you ready to make your character??
