She walked around the city, people staring at her. Like usual. She huffed and kept walking, minding her own business. This is how her days usually went. She would wake up and walk around all day, until she was tired. She didn't own a house. She lives in a old abandoned tree house. It doesn't bother her anymore. She knew what she was in for, after she had fallen. Her hair was in her face, with her rosary hanging from her neck. Her emerald eyes popped through her dark brown hair. She wished she could return to her real home. The heavens.

She walked in front of a coffee shop and paused. She stared through the window, debating whether to go inside or not. She shrugged and walked in. A handful of people turned to stare. She kept walking, not minding. She got to the register and ordered a mocha. She sat in a booth next to the window. She pulled out a book from her bag and read it. It was a book about a girl named Mary, who had lost both her parents to zombies. Her brother abandoned her and gave her to the nuns of the village they had. She felt terrible for they girl, knowing she was abandoned. She knew how she felt. She closed the book and looked at the cloudless sky. "If only they would understand.." she sighed sadly.

She walked through, not hearing the boy. She couldn't hear anyone over the loudness from the crowd. She minded her own business. The she finally head a faint 'Hey!' She felt it was aimed toward her, knowing that no one knew her adopted name. She turned, standing in the middle of busy sidewalk. She looked at him. Studying his face. Then she got a weird feeling over her. A dark feeling. Dark Children. She wouldn't turn him away, though. She felt as if she was one of them now, even though technically she isn't. She knew that too, she just felt she didn't need to turn people away.

"Yes?" she said calmly. She kept her attention on him. He was very attractive. She knew that was one of the qualities of a vampire, though. She was willing to give him a chance to speak, when normally she would have to be ordered to do something completely terrible. Then a thought crossed her mind. "Now is your chance! The chance to redeem yourself! Destroy him!" She thought abut it for a slight moment, then quickly put it out of her mind. No. It's cruel. She said inside of her mind. Her eyes had drifted to the ground while thinking, but quickly snapped back up to the boy. "Do you need anything?' She asked, holding part of her rosary in her hand.

She looked at Logan in amazement. So many nice things in one meeting. Usually people blew her off. But, he was different. Before she got too deep into thought, she began to answer him. "Nice to meet you Logan." she said, running a hand through her hair. "Solus? I assumed. You didn't turn into a pile of ash." she said with a slight laugh to it. She heard him say what she was. Fallen Angel. She didn't necessarily like the term, but she had to deal with it. "How did you-" she began to ask, before he explained his reasoning. She blushed a light shade of pink, smiling a faint smile. She listened to him, knowing she didn't want to harm him. She blushed more when she felt his arm around her. It made her nervous. If he was trying to charm her, it was sure as hell working. "G-Garnet.." she mumbled, slightly stuttering, being swayed easily. He had pulled her close, she turned a very dark shade of red. "Garnet.." she repeated, looking straight into his eyes.

What in the bloody hell is he doing? I'm like putty in his hands.. She told herself. She couldn't resist. Especially him. He was the best-looking Vampire/Solus she's laid eyes on. He definitely played the charm card well. He seemed fair enough. His intentions may not be pure, but when it came to him, it was like she had no choice. Under his spell. She didn't think about all of this though, she was already putty in his hands when he began pulling the charm on her. It worked, big time.

"You know, I was turned unexpectedly, one night a few years ago."

"It was kind of ironic, really. My entire family was hardcore christian, and we went to church regularly. I could even pray without being torn up inside. I remember one time when my dad gave me a cross necklace. The minute it touched my skin, it seared it, clean through until it was all red."

"Luckily my kind heals quick though. They were so confused, it was hard to leave them..."

"I became a Solus one day after a rather unusual feeding. Turns out the guy was an Angel..."

"What about you, Garnet? What's your story?"

"Thanks.." She blushed wildly, tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear. She liked being close to him. It gave her many mixed emotions, ones she just couldn't explain. She walked along side him, listening to him speak to her about how he figured out he was a Vampire. Interesting story, she thought. She found it odd, knowing that he could pray without being torn from the inside. She quickly took her mind off of it. As he told her, she tried remembering her story. It seemed like centuries ago, when it was only two years ago. It was weird it felt so long away, it was maybe because she longed to go home. One day to return. She turned to him and flashed him a smile.

She let out a small gasp when she heard he fed on an Angel. It was an accident, right? She asked herself. It had to of been. He asked for her story. "Ah, my turn." She said, straightening up a little. "Well, I was one of God's number one go-to Angels. Very high on the chain. You can say I'm a dreamer, because I had plans to try and make the life easier on other Angels, and try to make the system less harsh for the Fallen Angels." She spoke, the words flowing out of her mouth smoothly. "I tried setting up the system to make the Angels life easier, and most of them liked it. But God wasn't very happy.." She trailed off, spacing out for a moment. "I remember the rage in his eyes...he was so angry..' she said absent-minded. She snapped out of it quickly and turned back to Logan. "Well, I went behind his back and I was punished. And here I am now." She said, finishing her story. He had caught her off-guard when he asked if he could trust her. The sentence echoed. Can I trust you? She stared at him for a moment, unsure of what to say. She had quickly made up her mind, and let out a pleasant-toned "Yes. You can."

She looked at him, listening. He did state some good points. But She would never turn someone in. Ever. That was possibly the worst thing she could do. The thought raced through her mind. She remembered seeing the Dark Children being destroyed. It was a truly horrifying process. She's only seen the process once, and she never wanted to see it again. t made her feel different about the system, a reason why she wanted to change it. They were completely stubborn at times, but this was too far. She was quickly taken out of her thoughts when she heard his voice. Her legs nearly gave out from the sound of it. It was almost angelic to her, she was so stunned by his voice, she couldn't speak. Her mouth was partially open, just listening to his voice. When he spoke in her ear, she was swayed immediately. She couldn't resist. He had her under his charm. She was long gone from her mind. Her brilliant mind that would of stopped her from talking to Logan for this long. She stuttered like crazy, unable to produce words.

What am I doing?! She asked herself once more. She walked along side him while thinking over her decision. I really don't have anything to lose.. I mean, I've already lost everything I've ever had. What do I have to lose? She pondered. She was going to give in at this point, no matter what. Even if her mind kicked in and told her no. She would listen to her gut and follow Logan. She wondered what would have happened if she had turned Logan away from the start. She didn't let the thought linger too long. When she was able to speak again, she spoke "Okay, you have my word. You have my loyalty." She spoke while looking at him. Her eyes were full of emotion. Anxious, terrified, excited, nervous, she couldn't possibly name them all. She meant her word, although.

She flashed him a smile. "Oh! Sorry, I had forgotten. I fell around my seventeenth birthday. Roughly around two years ago." She said, looking at him. She could tell he wanted more questions answered by the look in his eyes. She went ahead and tried to answer what he was thinking. "I know my way because that's all I do when I'm here. I walk around town all day, maybe get a coffee and a cheeseburger of some sort." She said as she walked along the side walk. She felt as if a someone was following and watching. She causally looked over her shoulder. She didn't see anything. "I've been living in an abandoned tree house in the nearby forest. It's not much, but it's home." She huffed, continuing to walk. He mentioned the place he was staying. "Sounds great." She said to him with a smile.

She nodded and said "That's all we really can do at the moment, isn't it?" She said, walking. She looked over her shoulder again. She felt her right upper thigh, where a weapon she had kept from her Angel days was safely hidden. She grazed her hand against it, and continued to walk. She wasn't the best fighter, but she knew enough to win a battle and how to cure people and all that good jazz. She had the feeling again. She leaned close to Logan and whispered slightly "I think we are being followed, unless I'm being paranoid.." She said in an almost worried voice. Lord knows what was on their tail. If there was someone there.

"Yes, I did. Where else was I supposed to go? I don't have any of my powers left and my wings are gone, as far as I know. I lost everything." She said rushed, then ending with a sigh. She was taken by surprise when he grabbed her and kissed her. Her eyes widened, trying to think of why he'd do that. She kissed back a moment before he pulled away, her cheeks the darkest shade of red. "U-uh okay.." She stuttered, blushing madly. Why me? She asked herself. Why in the world would her choose her to accompany him, why would he choose her to turn in to a Solus? These questions swarmed her mind, and she knew she wouldn't get answers. She had the feeling of being followed still, and slipped her hand in to his and held it. "Might as well make it believable, right?" She said with a casual smirk on her face. She had returned to normal for now, her cunning skills kicking in.

What is after us? She asked herself, causally looking behind her every so often. She wondered if someone was coming back for her, or another Child of the Night. She had a couple encounters with some, and she fought them off every time, not destroying them, but just simply stunning them so she could gain enough time to run. She thought about getting her things from the tree house, but then remembered she had nothing to collect. She sighed, and swung her hand that held Logan's. She hoped that this would lead what ever was following away, just so she could be left alone, like she has been for two years.

"My clumsy self might find a way to make myself trip if I had wings. Ten dollars." She spoke to him with a laugh. She felt happy. Content. The first time she's smiled so much in years. She was thankful she had caught his attention, knowing if she didn't, she would be alone right now. So might he. She put those thoughts from her mind, and happily walked down the sidewalk, holding Logan's hand ans swinging it. Today brought her great joy, and the look in her eyes could confirm that. She couldn't stop smiling, until she remembered that someone was possibly following them. Of course, her instincts isn't always right, but her gut always was.

She heard him call her Madeline, she was about to object when he squeezed her hand, as if like a signal. She understood and said "I have no idea, Travis. Maybe the beach?" She said fairly loud also, wondering if they were just normal people, or there to harm them. She felt it get closer and closer, and her face looked more pained when she felt it. Her face had pain all over it but then disappeared. As if no one was ever following them, as if nothing happened. "They're gone, whoever they were." She said in a bit of a mumble, rememberin.g the pain in her gut. She wondered if the follower had done that to pain her, or completely on accident. She shook her head, forgetting those questions. Even though she knew the followers were gone, she still held on to Logan's hand. She felt safer, more at peace with her hand in his.
