Allison's Characters (Work in Progress) Drew-Roy-Fin7_large
DREW SHRAP
WEREWOLF; MALE; 16

• Family

Drew has several family members that he's unaware of, but I won't list them. Let's just say Drew has 5 brothers and sister, but he only knows that 2 of those siblings exist. It might sound sad, but it really isn't. Drew's strict parents have a hard enough time raising 3 children. 6 would leave the family starving, poor, and homeless. The Shraps are a pretty lucky bunch.

Fallon Shrap, werewolf, 12: Fallon, a sweet and often quiet girl, likes to play. She lives in the past, always pretending she's young, and pouncing around as her puppy wolf. Somehow, Fallon managed to learn control over her wolf body extremely quickly. Most werewolves never see themselves as a puppy wolf, but since Fallon learned quickly, her wolf gets to age as she does. Constantly following her older sister's example, Fallon is definitely the family baby, and she gets treated as such. Whether this is good or bad is really up to the beholder. Fallon enjoys getting pampered as if she really was a baby, and she throws tantrums quite often. (Most of the time they're silent tantrums. She is the quiet one, after all.) Fallon Shrap enjoys the company of her entire family, though she does fear her father.

Maria Shrap, werewolf, 15: Maria is a rule-follower. She loves the sensation of doing what she's told, and someday, Maria hopes to be the leader of their werewolf pack. Though a female's never been Alpha, Maria is sure that could change if a female--Maria--really put her mind to it, but she's too much of a goody-goody to step out of he rightful place in the pack in order to challenge the order. While she dreams, she doesn't really take things into action. Sadly, Maria is probably doomed to be unsuccessful, because she doesn't try hard enough. Maria's wolf is a wolf as large as Drew's--dishwasher-sized--but her fur is snowy white. Like a fallen angel, Maria's soul seems to glow with her fur color. Fur color didn't matter until Maria was born with white fur. Oh course this meant she would have white hair, and no female werewolf had glowed so strongly with the powerful white. Maria seemed special from birth, and after being assigned Drew's godchild, her older brother became her caretaker, too. Considering Maria was one of the first born Shrap's, she was allowed to stay in the family when it was separated. Drew fought for her to stay, but ever since then, the two siblings haven't talked much.

Harper Shrap, shapeshifter, 35: Harper, one of the "young moms," is always spending time pampering her children. Drew and Fallon like this kind of attention, but Maria never wants any part of it. Treating her children unequally most of the time, Harper isn't exactly a good mom, but you can't say she doesn't try her hardest at bringing her werewolf children upright. Disliked by Maria for being of a different species, all Harper ever tries to do around her eldest daughter is earn her trust.

Night Shrap, werewolf, 38: The favorite parent, Night and his laid back attitude comes in a package together; this package is eaten up by the Shrap children. His relationship with Harper is purely based on love, because mixed breeding is often dangerous, and people with pure werewolf blood, like Night, don't often marry creatures of another species. Their offspring don't normally live long, but yet all 6 Shrap children lived past birth. It was a miracle, but since Night wasn't ready for so many children, the weak children, except for Maria, were tossed aside. The third eldest, Toby Shrap, who is currently 14, was actually the second strongest, but Drew fought for Maria, so Maria was chosen over Toby. Now, no one dares mention Toby, except for Night, who still mourns for the only little shapeshifter in the Shrap family.

• Brief History

Living in Springfield, PA, Drew always saw himself as somewhat of a city kid. For a while, the creature never left his birth city out of fear something bad might happen to his family while he ventured off, but once little Fallon got old enough to look after the family, Drew was off. He hardly ever looked back as he ran through cities as a wolf, escaping dogcatchers, animal control, and the police more time than you could count. His heightened senses helped a lot when dealing with close calls, and it's a good thing, too, because Drew wasn't strong enough to fend off grow men. He still isn't strong enough!

• Abilities

Being a werewolf, Drew has your basic "werepowers." He isn't particularly gifted, since he has such little control on everything, but give him some time. Drew might just surprise you. (He'll definitely need time, though.) Anyway, back to Drew's abilities.

Drew's first special power is his ability to turn into a large, black wolf whenever he chooses. Most people go by the mythical version of a werewolf, where they turn into a wolf during the full moon. This is only half correct. Think of Drew, or Drew's race of werewolves, as shapeshifters. There's just two catches. A ) Drew can only turn into the same, dishwasher-sized, black wolf. B ) Drew isn't a shapeshifter. He's a werewolf. On full moons, Drew's powers are strengthened, and he cannot die, but this doesn't leave him vulnerable to pain, and it doesn't mean he'll never die. This simply means that Drew won't be fatally injured during a full moon. Oh! I'm forgetting the other full moon catch: Drew is forced to turn into a werewolf at the stroke of midnight during a full moon, and he must stay this way until 7 o'clock in the morning.

Another thing Drew can do that would be considered an ability is his sensory awareness power. Each werewolf, from the breed Drew belongs to, is given the ability to turn into a wolf, and receives one special "power" of sorts. This power defines the werewolf as a member of the pack, and as a person. Often a superior power will drive a person to become the leader of the pack, but their sanity is easily questionable. Drew's simple power, his heightened senses, allow him to live a somewhat controlled life, despite the little control Drew actually manages to contain. If he had a more complicated power, maybe the werewolf would have killed himself already--but Drew is weak. The boy's special talent lets him get ahead of the game, and he can literally walk through a forest with his eyes closed, or hear a single conversation in a room full of hundreds of people. Most werewolves have reliable senses, but Drew's senses are intense. His best sense, out of his five senses, is his hearing. Drew can hear the tiniest bug flap it's wing, as well as hear a frog jump into a pond 20 miles away, but that's probably the most impressive thing he can hear. Drew isn't a powerful being. He just has powers.

Still think Drew's weak? Well, he has another ability. While his wolf is large, dishwasher-sized isn't very big for a wolf. He's still small in retrospect, and the other werewolves, vampires, demons, ect. could easily win him out over strangth, but Drew has something they don't have. His speed is almost unmatched. He can outrun his clumsy seniors, and his blood-sucking pursuers, but if he's caught, the chances of Drew using anything but his wolf bite to get him out of a situation are slim. The werewolf's only defensive weapons are his teeth, but they can't do much damage in comparison to a vampire's. Drew Shrap's is lucky he's got that aerodynamic speed to rely on!
